Приближаются первые дедлайны, а у многих до написания эссе еще руки не дошли. И для того ,чтобы не тратить время зря на поиски тем для каждой из бизнес-школ, в которую вы подаетесь, мы предлагаем ознакомиться с темами эссе в десять ТОП бизнес-школ мира в этой статье.

 

London Business School

 

  1. Question 1 (600 words): In what role do you see yourself working immediately after graduation?  Why?  How will your past and present experiences help you achieve this?  How will the London Business School MBA Programme contribute to this goal? Why is this the right time for you to pursue an MBA?
  2. Question 2 (200 words): Where do you see your career progressing five years after graduation and what is your longer term career vision?
  3. Question 3 (500 words): Please describe your experience of working in and leading teams, either in your professional or personal life.  Include any specific challenges you have faced. Given this experience, what role do you think you will play in your first year study group?
  4. Question 4 (400 words): Student involvement is an extremely important part of the London MBA experience and this is reflected in the character of students on campus. What type of student club or campus community event s will you be involved with and why? How will you contribute?
  5. Question 5 (150 words): Describe any significant experiences outside of your home country. What did you gain from these?

 
Columbia Business School

 

  1. Essay 1 (Recommended 750 word limit): What are your short-term and long-term post-MBA goals? How will Columbia Business School help you achieve these goals?
  2. Essay 2 (Recommended 500 word limit): Master Classes are the epitome of bridging the gap between theory and practice at Columbia Business School. Please provide an example from your own life in which practical experience taught you more than theory alone.
  3. Essay 3 (Recommended 500 word limit): Please provide an example of a team failure of which you’ve been a part. If given a second chance, what would you do differently?

 
Stanford Graduate School of Business

 

  1. Essay 1 (750 words): What matters most to you, and why?
  2. Essay 2 (450 words): What are your career aspirations? How will your education at Stanford help you achieve them?
  3. Essay 3 (300 words): Please select two of the questions listed below:
    A. Tell us about a time when you built or developed a team whose performance exceeded expectations.
    B. Tell us about a time when you made a lasting impact on your organization.
    C. Tell us about a time when you motivated others to support your vision or initiative.
    D. Tell us about a time when you went beyond what was defined, established, or expected.

 
An applicant’s answers to all four questions may not exceed 1,800 words in total. As a guideline, the application materials suggest allocating 750 words to the first essay, 450 words to the second, and 300 words each to the two responses to the third essay questions.
That said, applicants can choose to write as little or as much as they like in response to each question provided they remain within the 1,800 total word count. “Each of you has your own story to tell, so please allocate these 1,800 words among the essays in the way that is most effective for you,” read the directions.

 
INSEAD

 
Job Essays

  1. Essay 1 (250 words): Please give a detailed description of your job, including nature of work, major responsibilities; and, where relevant, employees under your supervision, size of budget, number of clients/products and results achieved.
  2. Essay 2 (250 words): Please give us a full description of your career since graduating from university. If you were to remain with your present employer, what would be your next step in terms of position?

Personal Essays

  1. Essay 1 (400 words approx.): Give a candid description of yourself, stressing the personal characteristics you feel to be your strengths and weaknesses and the main factors, which have influenced your personal development, giving examples when necessary.
  2. Essay 2 (400 words approx.): Describe what you believe to be your two most substantial accomplishments to date, explaining why you view them as such.
  3. Essay 3 (250 words approx.): Describe a situation taken from school, business, civil or military life, where you did not meet your personal objectives, and discuss briefly the effect.
  4. Essay 4 (500 words approx.): Discuss your career goals. What skills do you expect to gain from studying at INSEAD and how will they contribute to your professional career.
  5. Essay 5: Please choose one of the following two essay topics:
    a) Have you ever experienced culture shock? What did it mean to you? (250 words approx.), or
    b) What would you say to a foreigner moving to your home country? (250 words approx.)

 
Chicago Booth

 

  1. Essay 1 (750-1000 words): How did you choose your most recent job/internship and how did this experience influence your future goals? What about the Chicago Booth MBA makes you feel it is the next best step in your career at this time?
  2. Essay 2 (500 – 750 words): Please choose one of the following:
    a. Describe a time when you wish you could have retracted something you said or did. When did you realize your mistake and how did you handle the situation?
    b. Describe a time when you were surprised by feedback that you received. What was the feedback and why were you surprised?

Kellogg School of Management

 

  1. Essay 1 (600 word limit): Briefly assess your career progress to date. Elaborate on your future career plans and your motivation for pursuing a graduate degree at Kellogg.
  2. Essay 2 (600 word limit): Describe your key leadership experiences and evaluate what leadership areas you hope to develop through your MBA experiences
  3. Essay 3 (600 word limit): Assume you are evaluating your application from the perspective of a student member of the Kellogg Admissions Committee. Why would your peers select you to become a member of the Kellogg community?
  4. Essay 4 (400 word limit): Complete one of the following three questions or statements.

 
Wharton

 

  1. Essay 1 (750-1000 words): As a leader in global business, Wharton is committed to sustaining “a truly global presence through its engagement in the world”.  What goals are you committed to and why?  How do you envision the Wharton MBA contributing to the attainment of those goals?
  2. Essay 2 (750-1000 words): Tell us about a time when you had to adapt by accepting/understanding the perspective of people different from yourself.
  3. Essay 3 (500 words): Describe a failure that you have experienced.  What role did you play, and what did you learn about yourself?
  4. Essay 4 (500 words): Choose one of the following:
    a. Give us a specific example of a time when you solved a complex problem.
    b. Tell us about something significant that you have done to improve yourself, in either your professional and/or personal endeavors.
  5. Essay 5 (Optional) (250 words): If you feel there are extenuating circumstances of which the Committee should be aware, please explain them here (e.g., unexplained gaps in work experience, choice of recommenders, inconsistent or questionable academic performance, significant weaknesses in your application).

 
Harvard Business School

 

  1. Essay 1 (600-word limit): What are your three most substantial accomplishments and why do you view them as such?
  2. Essay 2 (400-word limit): What have you learned from a mistake?
  3. Essay 3-4 (400-word limit each): Please respond to two of the following:
    1. What would you like the MBA Admissions Board to know about your undergraduate academic experience?
    2. Discuss how you have engaged with a community or organization.
    3. Tell us about a time when you made a difficult decision.
    4. Write a cover letter to your application introducing yourself to the Admissions Board.
    5. What is your career vision and why is this choice meaningful to you?

 
MIT/Sloan

 

  1. Essay 1
    Please describe a time when you went beyond what was defined, expected, established, or popular. (500 words or less, limited to one page)
  2. Essay 2
    Please describe a time when you coached, trained, or mentored a person or group. (500 words or less, limited to one page)
  3. Essay  3
    Please describe a time when you took responsibility for achieving an objective. (500 words or less, limited to one page)

 

NYU-Stern

 

  1. Essay1
    (750 word maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font)
    (a) What choices have you made that led you to your current position?
    (b) Why pursue an MBA at this point in your life?
    (c) What is your career goal upon graduation from NYU Stern? What is your long-term career goal?
  2.  Essay2
    (500 word maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font)
    (a) What is your personal experience with the Stern community? Tell us what actions you have taken to learn about us.
    (b) Describe what most excites you about Stern from both an academic and extracurricular perspective.
    (c) How do you anticipate making your mark on the Stern community? Be specific about the roles you will take on and the impact you hope to achieve.
  3. Essay 3
    Please describe yourself to your MBA classmates. You may use almost any method to convey your message (e.g. words, illustrations). Feel free to be creative
